Tarian RCCU Launches New Website

The Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) for Southern Wales has launched its new website. The site has been created to help communities in the region stay up-to-date and aware on matters pertaining to cyber security.

Tarian RCCU operates across three police force areas in Wales: South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed-Powys. The unit consists of teams, formed of police officers and staff seconded from the three forces, who are responsible for investigating cyber crime, forensically examining digital devices, and engaging with members of the community.

The engagement team interacts with a wide variety of audiences. From SMEs and charities through to schools, higher education institutes, and individuals. The team’s aim is to ensure that as many people as possible feel able to protect themselves from common cyber threats.

The site will offer police-approved advice and guidance all in one place. The insights section will provide threat and scam alerts, team updates, information on competitions for young people, and external vacancies. The services of the RCCU and their approved partners are also displayed.

“We are delighted with our new site, and believe that it will offer a fantastic platform from which to help both organisations and the wider public across Southern Wales,” said Detective Chief Inspector Steven Maloney. “It will also be a useful tool for promoting the positive work that our teams complete in order to keep individuals safe online and on digital devices.”
